General Directives – Upper Elementary

Dear Parents and guardians,

To ensure the smooth flow of the academic year and to foster a safe, disciplined, and supportive  learning environment, we kindly ask for your cooperation in adhering to the following directives.

  1. Attendance

Regular attendance at school is essential. We kindly request that you ensure both the  punctuality and consistent presence of your child, as these are primary indicators of  academic commitment.

  • Arrival Time: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. → Playground C
  • Dismissal Time: 2:40 p.m. → Playground C

Only Grade 6 students are permitted to proceed directly to meet their parents in the  parking area or to pick up siblings from other divisions, provided that parents have signed  the Pedestrian Authorization Form.

  1. Tardiness

Any student not present in Playground C after the morning bell and gate closure will be  considered late.

  • Late students must obtain classroom entry authorization from the supervisor.  • After three incidents of tardiness, the student will be assigned additional academic work in  the library (CDI) for the day.
  • Justified delays due to family circumstances or unforeseen accidents will be considered.  • In cases of compelling necessity (passport renewal, medical consultation, bereavement,  accident), students may arrive no later than 10:00 a.m.
  1. Early Dismissal

Appointments with doctors, dentists, or other specialists should be scheduled outside  school hours. In urgent circumstances, students may be dismissed at 12:00 p.m. If the  administration deems it necessary for a student to leave during the school day (e.g.,  illness), parents will be notified immediately.

  1. Absences

Absences should remain exceptional. In the event of an unforeseen absence, families  must notify the administration promptly by phone or email. For absences due to contagious  illness, a medical certificate must be submitted to the school health office.

  1. Dress Code

The school uniform is compulsory as it reflects discipline and unity within our community.  • Parents are kindly requested to clearly label their child’s uniform with their full name.  • The sports uniform may be worn only on scheduled Physical Education (PE) days.  • The official school shirt is required for class photographs and formal events.

  1. Personal Hygiene

To ensure the well-being and safety of all:

  • Students must keep their nails clean, short, and free of nail polish to avoid scratching.

*2026 – 2027

  • Parents should regularly check their child’s scalp.
  • Boys’ hair should be kept short, and girls’ hair should be tied back.
  • The school infirmary must be notified immediately in the event of a possible infestation.
  1. Safety Protocols

In view of current circumstances, families are requested to strictly comply with all safety  measures implemented by the school. If someone other than the parents (e.g.,  grandparent, aunt) will collect the child, the school office must be informed by 1:30 p.m. The authorized person must present the student’s school passport upon arrival.

  1. Assessments

Throughout the academic year, both formative and summative assessments will be  conducted to evaluate student learning.

  • Grades 4 & 5: Three continuous assessments.
  • Grade 6: Two exams and two continuous assessments.

It is essential that students prepare adequately for these evaluations.

  1. Homework

Homework is a vital component of the learning process, helping students reinforce  concepts taught in class and develop independence. Parents are encouraged to monitor  homework completion on a daily basis. Students are expected to fulfill all academic  responsibilities. Repeated failure to complete homework or consistent underperformance  in class will lead to appropriate academic follow-up measures.

We sincerely thank you for your collaboration and ongoing commitment to your child’s growth and success.
