Welcome to Antonine International School - Dekwaneh

Academic Depth, Global Readiness, and Purposeful Learning

The High School Program at Antonine International School – Dekwaneh (AIS-D) provides a rigorous and inspiring academic experience for students in Grades 10 to 12. Rooted in the school’s trilingual and values-based philosophy, it prepares learners to succeed in both Lebanese and American Program pathways.

Students develop mastery in their chosen track through critical inquiry, laboratory-based learning, and skill integration across subjects. Each pathway emphasizes leadership, responsibility, and readiness for higher education in Lebanon and abroad.

Dual Academic Pathways

Lebanese Baccalaureate Program

The Lebanese Baccalaureate Program follows the official curriculum set by the Ministry of Education, leading to the Official Baccalaureate Examination at the end of Grade 12. Students specialize in one of three academic tracks according to their strengths and university goals:

Instruction in all three tracks combines theoretical rigor with research, experimentation, and applied learning. Students are guided to think critically, solve complex problems, and communicate findings with clarity and precision.

Physics, Chemistry, and Biology laboratories provide hands-on experimentation and inquiry, ensuring that scientific understanding is rooted in experience, not memorization. The curriculum also integrates technology and data analysis, reflecting modern educational standards.

American Program

The American Program at AIS-D offers a flexible, standards-based curriculum aligned with U.S. educational frameworks. It emphasizes depth of understanding, analytical reasoning, and creative problem-solving across all core subjects.

Students earn course credits through continuous assessment and project-based learning rather than national examinations. The curriculum includes English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, taught through inquiry and critical analysis.

Dedicated SAT preparation is built into English and Math classes, ensuring that students are fully equipped for university entrance exams. Lessons develop verbal reasoning, reading comprehension, and mathematical problem-solving while encouraging logical thinking and time management.

This program cultivates independence, academic maturity, and a global outlook, preparing graduates for admission to leading universities worldwide

Core Academic Subjects

English Language Arts

English develops advanced reading, writing, and communication skills through literary analysis, essay composition, and research writing. Students engage with classical and contemporary texts, improving argumentation and style while preparing for SAT-level reading and writing challenges.

Mathematics

Math instruction builds fluency in algebra, geometry, calculus, and data interpretation. Students apply mathematical concepts to real-world problems through inquiry and collaborative reasoning. Both programs integrate SAT-style practice to strengthen logical thinking and quantitative reasoning.

Sciences

High School science courses include Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, each supported by dedicated laboratory sessions. Students design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and connect theory to practice. The program encourages scientific literacy and innovation through observation and experimentation.

Social Studies and Civics

Social Studies fosters awareness of global issues, history, geography, and human development. Civic Education reinforces ethical leadership, community involvement, and respect for cultural diversity. Students develop an understanding of how societies function and how they can contribute responsibly.

Technology, Research, and Innovation

Technology education supports both academic and professional skill development. Students learn research, digital communication, and project design through real applications. Emphasis is placed on responsible digital citizenship, critical evaluation of information, and use of technology for problem-solving and innovation.

Christian Education and Ethical Formation

Christian Education continues to nurture the spiritual and moral growth of students. Lessons focus on ethical reflection, compassion, and service. Through dialogue, reflection, and community projects, students cultivate empathy, gratitude, and respect for human dignity — values that guide them toward purposeful leadership.

Physical Education and Wellbeing

Physical Education (P.E.) promotes health, teamwork, and discipline through structured physical activities and sports. Students learn the importance of perseverance, respect, and fair play.

Inquiry, Trilingualism, and University Readiness

Learning in the High School years is guided by AIS-D’s 5Es Model — Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate — ensuring that inquiry and reflection remain central to instruction.

Students study in a trilingual environment: English serves as the primary language of instruction, French (FLE) develops multilingual communication, and Arabic connects students to their roots and identity.

By the end of Grade 12, AIS-D graduates demonstrate academic excellence, integrity, and global competence. Whether pursuing the Lebanese Baccalaureate (SG, LS, or SE track) or the American Program, they leave prepared for success in universities across Lebanon, Europe, and North America — and ready to lead with intellect, purpose, and compassion.
