Health and Hygiene Service
The Antonine International School (AIS-Dekwaneh) operates a fully equipped school infirmary, open during school hours from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, dedicated to ensuring the well-being of its students. The school nurse is responsible for managing emergencies, providing immediate care, and conducting follow-ups within her scope of practice and responsibilities.
The nurse attends to students experiencing health concerns during the school day—such as discomfort, accidents, or sudden pain—while keeping parents informed when necessary. Additionally, she plays an active role in the school’s educational mission by promoting health awareness and education through tailored training and awareness programs. Adhering to strict professional confidentiality, the nurse administers prescribed medical treatments and assists in organizing mandatory medical check-ups in collaboration with the school physician.
For minor school-related accidents (e.g., scrapes from a fall or a minor collision during recess), the nurse provides first aid, advises teachers to monitor the student, and notifies parents as needed.
In the case of serious incidents requiring specialized medical care, the nurse administers first aid and immediately contacts the parents to arrange for further medical attention. If parents cannot be reached or are unable to come to the school, emergency services are called, and the student is promptly transferred to the nearest hospital emergency department.
