General Directives – Lower Elementary

Dear Parents and guardians,

To ensure the smooth flow of the academic year and to foster a safe, disciplined, and supportive  learning environment, we kindly ask for your cooperation in adhering to the following directives.

  1. Attendance and Punctuality

Regular and punctual attendance is essential to your child’s academic success. Students are  expected to arrive at school between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. through Gate 2, and dismissal  takes place at 2:25 p.m. through Gate 1.

  • For safety reasons, and to prevent any delays, parents are kindly requested not to pick up  their children or their school bags along the stairways.
  • Students may be picked up only after all classes have assembled in Playground A and  Gate 1 has been officially opened.
  • At dismissal, please pick up your child(ren) and exit Playground A without delay. If you are  waiting for another child from a different cycle, we kindly ask that you remain in your  vehicle outside the playground. To ensure safety and smooth traffic flow, children should  not be allowed to run in the parking area or in front of Gate 1.

  1. Tardiness

Students arriving after the morning bell and the closure of the gate will be considered late.  In such cases:

  • They must obtain an entry authorization slip from the supervisor before joining class.  • After three incidents of tardiness, the student will be assigned additional academic tasks  in the school library.
  • Justified delays caused by family circumstances or unforeseen events will be considered.  In urgent cases (passport renewal, medical consultations, bereavement, accident),  students may arrive no later than 10:00 a.m. As key stakeholders in your child’s  development, we count on your support in reinforcing punctuality and school routines at  home.

  1. Early Dismissal

Medical and specialist appointments should be arranged outside school hours whenever possible.  In cases of urgent necessity, students may be dismissed at 12:00 p.m. Should the  administration deem it necessary for a student to leave school during the day, parents will be  informed immediately.

  1. Absences

Absences should remain exceptional. Parents are asked to inform the administration promptly,  either by phone or email, in the event of an unforeseen absence. For absences of three  consecutive days or more, a medical report must be submitted. In cases of contagious illness,  a medical certificate is required for the student to return.

  1. Dress Code

The school uniform is compulsory as it reflects discipline and unity within our community.  • Parents are kindly requested to clearly label their child’s uniform with their full name.  • The sports uniform may be worn only on scheduled Physical Education (PE) days.

  • The official school shirt is required for class photographs and formal events.

  1. Hygiene

To ensure the well-being and safety of all:

  • Students must keep their nails clean, short, and free of nail polish to avoid scratching.  • Parents should regularly check their child’s scalp.
  • Boys’ hair should be kept short, and girls’ hair should be tied back.
  • The school infirmary must be notified immediately in the event of a possible infestation.

  1. Safety Regulations

For the safety of all students, parents must inform the school office if someone other than  themselves will be picking up their child. Notification should be made to the school secretary no  later than 1:30 p.m. on the same day, and the authorized individual must present the student’s  school passport upon arrival.

  1. Assessments

Student progress will be monitored continuously through formative and summative assessments,  which provide timely feedback and allow for early intervention when needed. In addition, three  formal progress reports will be issued throughout the year, offering detailed insights into each  student’s academic performance and skill development.

  1. Homework and Academic Responsibility

Homework is a vital component of the learning process, helping students reinforce concepts  taught in class and develop independence. Parents are encouraged to monitor homework  completion on a daily basis. Students are expected to fulfill all academic responsibilities. Repeated  failure to complete homework or consistent underperformance in class will lead to appropriate  academic follow-up measures.

  1. Recess
  • To enhance recess time and promote peer interaction, we encourage each child to bring  a board game from home to share and enjoy with classmates during breaks. This initiative  aims to foster cooperation, respect for rules, and the joy of playing together.
  • We kindly ask that you refrain from sending dangerous or inappropriate items (e.g., toy  weapons, Pokémon cards, small detachable objects, darts, bows, projectiles, etc.) in  order to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.

We sincerely thank you for your collaboration and ongoing commitment to your child’s growth and  success.
