Where Ambition Meets Academic Excellence
The High School Years at Antonine International School – Dekwaneh (AIS-D) mark the final and most defining stage of a student’s school journey. From Grade 10 to Grade 12, students consolidate their learning, refine their interests, and prepare for higher education with confidence and purpose. The program combines academic rigor, leadership development, and personal growth, ensuring that every graduate is equipped for success both in Lebanon and internationally.
Dual Academic Pathways: Lebanese and American Programs
AIS-D offers two rigorous and complementary pathways that meet the aspirations of a diverse student body.
Lebanese Curriculum and Official Baccalaureate Preparation
The Lebanese national curriculum prepares students for the Official Lebanese Baccalaureate Examination administered by the Ministry of Education. Students specialize in one of three academic tracks according to their interests and future university goals:
- Sociology and Economics (SE Track) focusing on social sciences, civic education, and economic systems.
- Life Sciences (LS Track) emphasizing biology, chemistry, and applied mathematics for medical and scientific studies.
- General Sciences (SG Track) integrating advanced physics, chemistry, and mathematics for students pursuing engineering or physical sciences.
This pathway develops strong analytical, linguistic, and ethical competencies while promoting discipline, perseverance, and national identity.
American Program
The American Program at AIS-D follows a standards-based, credit-bearing curriculum aligned with the U.S. educational framework. It emphasizes critical thinking, inquiry, and applied learning across core subjects including English, Mathematics, Sciences, and Social Studies.
Students learn through projects, research, and interdisciplinary experiences that build college-readiness skills. The American Program integrates SAT preparation and continuous assessment rather than final external exams, allowing for ongoing growth and reflective learning.
Graduates of the American Program are well prepared for admission to universities in Lebanon, the United States, and around the world.
Pre-University Readiness and SAT Preparation
High School students receive structured SAT preparation as part of their weekly academic plan. Instruction focuses on verbal reasoning, reading comprehension, grammar, and mathematical problem-solving, all aligned with the College Board’s assessment standards.
This preparation develops analytical precision and test confidence, supporting both university entrance requirements and overall academic performance.
STEAM Learning and Scientific Exploration
AIS-D’s commitment to STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) continues to expand at the High School level. Students engage in advanced problem-solving, design challenges, and research projects that connect creativity with scientific rigor.
The school’s dedicated Physics, Chemistry, and Biology laboratories provide professional environments for experimentation and investigation. Students design and conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, and apply theoretical knowledge in authentic, hands-on ways.
This focus on experiential learning prepares future scientists, engineers, and innovators to think critically and solve complex problems.
Trilingual Education with French as FLE
AIS-D remains committed to trilingual education in English, French, and Arabic. English is the main language of instruction, while French is taught as FLE (Français Langue Étrangère – French as a Foreign Language) through interactive communication and academic practice. Arabic continues to anchor identity, values, and heritage.
This trilingual framework strengthens communication, intercultural understanding, and intellectual versatility.
Wellbeing, Inclusion, and Leadership
AIS-D recognizes that true success requires balance. The High School environment promotes wellbeing through mentorship, counseling, and reflection. Students learn time management, stress awareness, and emotional resilience.
Inclusion remains a cornerstone of AIS-D’s philosophy. Differentiated instruction and individualized support ensure that all learners are challenged and guided according to their needs. Leadership and service opportunities — such as student councils, volunteer initiatives, and school projects — foster accountability, empathy, and teamwork.
Character, Values, and Vision
Education at AIS-D extends beyond academics. Students are encouraged to lead with integrity, act with compassion, and serve their community responsibly. Through cultural events, research fairs, and outreach projects, they learn that leadership begins with ethical action and social awareness.
These experiences cultivate young adults who are confident, principled, and prepared to contribute meaningfully to society.
Preparing for the Future
The High School Years at Antonine International School – Dekwaneh prepare students for success in higher education and beyond. Whether pursuing the Lebanese Baccalaureate (SE, LS, or SG track) or the American Program, students graduate with the knowledge, values, and confidence to thrive in university settings worldwide.
Grounded in academic excellence, enriched through STEAM learning and laboratory innovation, strengthened by trilingual education, and supported by a culture of wellbeing, inclusion, and leadership, AIS-D High School graduates are ready to shape their futures with integrity, intellect, and purpose.
