Teachers’ Committee
The Teachers’ Committee is composed of representatives from the teaching staff who, by contract, belong to the “School Activities” framework. It consists of five members elected for a non-renewable two-year term. Elections take place at the beginning of the academic year within twenty working days following the start of classes. Any teacher who has taught at AIS-Dekwaneh for at least two consecutive years is eligible to run, and all teachers are entitled to vote. The election is conducted by secret ballot, and after the public counting of votes, the results are announced by the School Principal. The names of the elected members are then communicated to all voters present.
Recognized by the School Principal, the elected Committee meets at least once a month and may convene the teaching staff whenever deemed necessary. The Principal is informed in advance of every meeting or general assembly called by the Committee. Decisions are made by an absolute majority of members present.
As both a representative and consultative body, the Teachers’ Committee is entrusted with the following responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison between the teaching staff and the school administration.
- Represent the faculty before the AIS-Dekwaneh Administration.
- Safeguard the collective interests of the teaching staff, including compliance with laws and regulations, employment rights, and mutual support initiatives.
- Promote coordination, collaboration, and solidarity among teachers.
- Organize and lead cultural, social, and professional activities for the teaching community.
